Pop Up books may seem like magic, but it’s a sleight of hand you can master. We are devoting the month of August to creating with paper.

Every Wednesday you can pop-in to our space to learn how to transform 2D paper into 3D mechanisms. We will be going over basic techniques and slowly build on your repertoire of complex folds, pull-tabs, pop-outs, pull-downs and many more fun mechanisms to tell immersive stories.

In the first hour we will be making the pop-up element of the day, the second hour is about iterating, discovering and playing with different complex pop-up elements and thinking about how to integrate electronics into our pop-up books. We may even use digital fabrication techniques like vinyl cutting.

We will have some snacks and endless resources for you (all the paper materials, cutting tools, extra craft pieces and electronics). You just bring yourself and your curiosity.
